Second phase of Wage Order No. RBIII-16 already in effect

Part of the P28.00 cost of living allowance (COLA) given to minimum wage earners in Central Luzon has been incorporated into their basic wage rate early this month. Under Wage Order No. RBIII-16 (WO RBIII-16) published in Sun Star Pampanga last year, P4.00 from the said COLA should be integrated already in their basic daily wage starting January 1, 2012.

DOLE touches base with CEOs

Local and international company executives met recently with DOLE to discuss labor issues affecting their businesses and the national economy.

Replying to the perception that DOLE is biased in favor of workers, Secretary Rosalinda Dimapilis-Baldoz assured the business community that DOLE will address this issue with key innovations.

First, “the DOLE is reviewing the Labor Code for possible amendments to maintain balance between the rights of workers and employers”, said Baldoz.


Bus drivers to get fixed pay starting February

Beginning February 1, bus drivers and conductors plying the NCR route will receive minimum wage and other mandatory benefits.

DOLE’s Department Order No. 118-12 Series of 2012 mandates a fixed and performance based compensation scheme in the public bus transport industry, a novel scheme which drastically changes an age-old commission-based pay practice.

 

RTWPB4-A holds its first wage consultatio on Two-Tiered Wage System


The Wage Order issued by RTWPB IV-A just reached it first anniversary last 15 January 2012 which, in turn, signals the start of a new round of wage consultations.  Hence, on 17 January 2012, the first leg of the wage consultation was convened at the Techno Park Hotel, Sta. Rosa, Laguna with the members of the Regional Tripartite Industrial Peace Council representing the labor and employers sectors, and some industry associations were in full force.



 
 
New Wage Adjustment for Davaoeños

Effective January 1, 2012, minimum wage earners in Davao Region will receive a Cost of Living Allowance (COLA) of P5.00 per day along with the integration of the P15.00 COLA under Wage Order No. RB XI-16. An additional COLA of P10.00 will also be implemented on May 1, 2012 with the issuance of Wage Order No. RB XI-17.
