DTI partner coops undergo Lean Management training in Sarangani, Kidapawan City

September 22, 2026

The Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Board-XII (RTWPB-XII) conducted two Lean Management trainings for cooperators of the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI)’s Shared Service Facilities (SSF) Project in August.

At the invitation of DTI Sarangani Provincial Office, RTWPB-XII held its first training session for 17 members of the Principled Achievers Rendering True Services (PARTS), Inc. in Sapu Masla, Malapatan, Sarangani Province on 25 August 2026

Mr. Randy Oliver Legada, MIT, IT Officer I of RTWPB-XII, served as resource speaker.

During the activity, participants learned practical strategies to reduce waste, streamline processes, and optimize time and resources. These improvements are expected to strengthen PARTS, Inc.’s production of virgin coconut oil and other coconut-based products.

Following this, a similar session was held on 27 August 2026, at the Cotabato Provincial Capitol in Amas, Kidapawan City at the invitation of the DTI Cotabato Provincial Office. It was attended by 11 representatives from Pangao-an MPC, Mediatrix MPC, and Sta. Catalina MPC, alongside SSF co-operators from across Cotabato Province.

The session covered the core concepts of Lean Management, the eight types of waste, and the DMAIC (Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, Control) framework–tools that help organizations identify inefficiencies, solve problems, and sustain improvements.

Lean Management provides basic tools and techniques for enhancing customer value by optimizing resources and reducing various forms of waste to improve overall enterprise efficiency.

The SSF Project is a flagship DTI program aimed at improving the productivity and efficiency of small enterprises through access to better technology.

DTI, through the SSF Project, provides eligible cooperators with machinery, equipment, tools, accessories, and other auxiliary items under a shared system. (Randy Oliver Legada)
