Kapihan sa Baguio sets stage for 124th Labor Day Celebration

April 30, 2026

BAGUIO CITY — In preparation for the 124th Labor Day celebration, the Department of Labor and Employment – Cordillera Administrative Region (DOLE-CAR) held a media briefing called “Kapihan sa Baguio” on 29 April 2026, at the DOLE-CAR Conference Room.

The briefing was led by Regional Director Imelda Romanillos, together with representatives from partner agencies. The Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Board – Cordillera Administrative Region (RTWPB-CAR) also joined the Kapihan and announced that it will take part in the Labor Day One-Stop Shop Services by providing information, education, and communication (IEC) materials, as well as advocacy support.

The group discussed the upcoming Labor Day Jobs Fair scheduled for May 1, 2026. This year’s theme is “Disenteng Trabaho para sa Lahat: Bagong Pilipinas, Isang Hangarin, Sama-samang Mararating”, which promotes fair and quality employment for Filipino workers.

The May 1 jobs fair aims to connect job seekers with local employers, offering positions that meet standards for fair wages, safe working conditions, and respect for workers’ rights. DOLE-CAR encouraged residents to attend and take advantage of the opportunities lined up for Labor Day. (Albert M. Palma)
