NEWS AND ANNOUNCEMENTS
The Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Board–XIII (RTWPB-XIII), in coordination with the Department of Labor and Employment–Surigao del Norte Field Office (DOLE-SDNFO) conducted a Productivity 101 training for workers of the Hinatuan Mining Corporation on 28 May 2026.
Mr. Earl D. dela Victoria, RTWPB Caraga Board Secretary VI, spearheaded the discussion on Productivity 101 (Productivity Enhancement), the current wage adjustments, and the RTWPB’s other productivity programs aimed at fostering workplace and its workers’ effectivity and efficiency.
“This joint initiative underscores how DOLE and RTWPB work hand-in-hand to integrate occupational safety, mental health support, child labor advocacy, and workplace productivity—ensuring a safer, healthier, and more productive Caraganon workforce,” Mr. Dela Victoria said.
Speaking on behalf of DOLE-SDNFO Head May C. Velonta, Mr. Brix Merlin, Senior Labor Officer, expressed gratitude to RTWPB Caraga for its continuous commitment to the workers of Surigao del Norte.
“Our activity today is also in line with the World Day for Safety and Health at Work which highlights the critical social and psychological protection of our workers. To complete this holistic approach, we believe it is just as vital for the workers to understand productivity and their ecnomic rights,” Mr. Merlin said.
Productivity 101 provides a basic orientation on productivity concepts, measures, tools and techniques.
The Hinatuan Mining Corporation operates within the Surigao Mineral Reservation, focusing on the export of saprolite and limonite ore.
