Occidental Mindoro workers join RTWPB-MIMAROPA’s consultation on wage determination

September 29, 2026

Workers from private establishments and the kasambahays participated in the stakeholder consultation on minimum wage determination conducted by the Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Board (RTWPB) MIMAROPA on September 22, 2026 in San Jose, Occidental Mindoro.

The consultation provided a platform for workers to raise wage-related concerns and share the challenges they face amid changing economic conditions. Participants expressed the need for a wage adjustment that would help meet the daily needs of workers and their families and improve their quality of life amid increasing cost of basic goods and services.

The RTWPB-MIMAROPA welcomed the insights from the labor and kasambahay sectors, emphasizing the importance of stakeholder consultations in the wage determination process. The Board noted that such engagements help gather firsthand information and sector-specific inputs needed to support informed and balanced wage decisions.

The active participation of the labor and kasambahay sectors highlighted the value of social dialogue in developing wage policies that are responsive to the realities and needs of the workforce. (Radlie R. Manlisis)
