The Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Board IV – A (RTWPB IV-A) conducted its 2nd Public Consultation on the Minimum Wage Adjustment for the Formal Sector and Domestic Workers in CALABARZON last 16 July 2026, in Antipolo City, Rizal. The event brought together stakeholders from the labor, management, and domestic worker sectors to present their respective positions and recommendations on the proposed wage adjustment.

The labor sector emphasized the need to address the wage gap between neighboring areas such as Pasig City and Cainta, Rizal, noting that while workers receive different minimum wage rates, the prices of goods and services are nearly the same.

They also called for a review of the current regional wage system and shared their support for a National Minimum Wage. Labor representatives likewise pointed out that the rising cost of living continues to make it difficult for many workers to provide for their families.

Meanwhile, the management sector expressed its commitment to comply with any wage order that may be issued by the Board. At the same time, employers shared their concerns about the increasing cost of doing business, particularly for micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs), and emphasized the need to balance fair wages with business sustainability and job preservation.

Representatives from the domestic worker sector also appealed for an increase in their current minimum wage, citing the continuous rise in the prices of basic commodities and the growing needs of their families. This consultation gave stakeholders the opportunity to share their opinions, concerns, and recommendations on the proposed minimum wage adjustment. All comments, suggestions, and position papers submitted during the consultation will be carefully reviewed and considered by RTWPB IV-A as part of its ongoing study and discussion in determining the appropriate minimum wage adjustment for the region.
