On July 5, the National Wages and Productivity Commission celebrated its 30th anniversary at the Philippine International Convention Center (PICC) in Pasay City with the theme “30 Years of Public Service @ its best.”
The event was attended by current and former employees of the Commission as well as senior officials from different offices of DOLE and partner agencies.
Leading the guests who graced the event were Secretary Silvestre H. Bello III, Undersecretary Ciriaco A. Lagunzad III, Undersecretary Ana C. Dione, Undersecretary Renato L. Ebarle, and Assistant Secretary Alex V. Avila.
Secretary Bello III expressed wishes for NWPC, headed by Executive Director Executive Director Maria Criselda R. Sy, to continue realizing the vision of high and rising living standards for Filipino workers and competitiveness among enterprises.
Special citations were also awarded to Commissioners Lucila Castillo-Tarriela, David L. Diwa, and Cedric P. Bagtas for their dedication and service to the Commission. The NWPC also gave special citation to Mr. Juan A. Quintos Jr. of Rosehall Management Consultants for being a game changer in the productivity movement.
Former heads, Ms. Carmelita “Lily” M. Pineda, the first NWPC Executive Director (1989-1997) and Undersecretary Ciriaco A. Lagunzad III, former NWPC Executive Director (1997-2013) were also honored for their role and contribution to the achievements of the Commission.
Outstanding NWPC employees were also recognized for their significant contribution to the agency. The Financial Management Division was awarded for ensuring efficient financial management systems, earning various recognitions for the agency and Mr. Jerome P. Lucas for his innovative and extensive use of the social media in promoting NWPC’s programs.
Special performances by the NWPC employees, as well as a song number by State Auditor Lorelei Villanueva were performed during the event. Special awards were also given to Ms. Phyllis G. Dela Rosa (Belle Award), Mr. Enrique P. Reyes, Jr. (Debonair Award) and to Mr. Christopher F. Rodriguez (“Pride” Award).
Prior to the event, a celebratory mass presided by Fr. Jerome Secillano of the Catholic Bishop’s Conference of the Philippines was held on July 1 at the NWPC Conference Room.
