NWPC provides input to 2018 SER

The NWPC, through Deputy Executive Director Patricia P. Hornilla, participated in the crafting of 2018 Socioeconomic Report (SER) organized by the National Economic Development Authority on November 29, 2018.

The 2018 SER serves as the second assessment of the Philippine Development Plan Report 2017-2022. The report also recommended priority strategies for 2018 and 2019.

To accelerate the attainment of “Sustainable Development Goal 8 on Decent Work and Economic Growth,” the NWPC proposed 1) measures to ensure fair and reasonable share of labor in the fruits of production, 2) implementation of measures that contribute to the growth of real wages such as promotion and strengthening of unionism and collective bargaining at the firm and industry level, dissemination of information on compensation schemes in key industries, and provision of regular increase in the salary of government workers; and 3) mainstreaming a productivity agenda in all sectoral plans to ensure attainment of labor productivity growth targets.
