RTWPB II grants wage hike for private sector, domestic workers

RTWPB II approved Wage Order No. RB II-20 which granted a P5 to P25 daily wage increase for private sector workers in Cagayan Valley Region starting March 16, 2020

The new minimum wage rate for the non-agriculture and retail/service establishments employing more than 10 workers is P370; P345 for agriculture; and P345 for retail/service establishments employing 10 workers and less.  The increase for workers in retail/service establishments employing 10 workers and less will be given in two tranches at P12.50 upon the effectivity of the wage order and another P12.50 by July 1, 2020.

The board also approved a P500 monthly wage increase for domestic workers in the region through the effectivity of Wage Order No. RB-02-DW-03 which also took effect on March 16, 2020. This sets the monthly minimum wage for domestic workers at P4,000.

Both wage orders were published in the Northern Post on March 1, 2020.
