The Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Board – National Capital Region (RTWPB-NCR) together with the Department of Labor and Employment – National Capital Region (DOLE-NCR) and Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) joined the webinar series organized by the Employer’s Confederation of the Philippines (ECOP) last August 13, 2020, Thursday via Zoom, on the topic: “Retrenchments, Closures and Fate of MSMEs – A Situationer in NCR”.
The session gave updates on recent COVID 19-related regulations/issuances, programs and services as well as the impact of the pandemic on businesses in the region. The Board provided updates on the wage situation and available assistance to MSMES thru productivity trainings that could help enterprises recover and regain back the confidence brought by the pandemic.
Atty. Russel Jallorina, OIC-ARD of DOLE-NCR, discussed the DOLE support programs such as TUPAD, AKAP, livelihood programs and financial assistance to displaced local workers and OFWs. Meanwhile, DTI-NCRO Regional Director Marcelina S. Alcantara presented DTI’s programs and services designed to help MSMEs revoer their business operations during this period of pandemic.
ECOP’s President Mr. Sergio Ortiz, gladly welcomed all 210 participants and resource speakers. The activity was moderated by ECOP’s Director General Jose Roland Moya and co-anchored by Ms. Abigail Roxas-Gorospe.
