Undersecretary Ciriaco A. Lagunzad III and Executive Director Maria Criselda R. Sy attended the 39th Regional Convention of Quality Circles with the theme “Creating a Brighter Future through TQM and QC Circles Activities” on July 19, 2019 at the Mallberry Suites Hotel, Cagayan de Oro City.
In his message, Undersecretary Lagunzad emphasized the role of total quality management and quality circles in improving the productivity of enterprises. Meanwhile, ED Sy lectured on disruptive technology trends and its impact on productivity and employment. She stressed that business enterprises must strengthen their digital technology skills, knowledge, infrastructure, and ecosystem to become more competitive and responsive to the future requirements of the business landscape.
In the afternoon, Undersecretary Lagunzad and Executive Director Sy graced ECC-X Regional Extension Unit’s activity for private enterprises themed “Improving Productivity through Strengthening Compliance with Occupational Safety and Health Standards” where RTWPB X presented is advocacy program, Usapang 2Ps (Pasahod at Productivity).
ECC-X discussed the mandatory work safety and health standards under DOLE D.O.198 and the EC benefits and services in the event of work-connected emergencies. RTWPB-X, meanwhile, presented the package of technical assistance and services offered by the Board under the Productivity Toolbox.
