Wage hikes in 4 regions

Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Boards in Central Luzon, Western Visayas, Central Visayas, and Zamboanga Peninsula recently approved new wage orders for their respective regions.


In Central Luzon, a basic wage increase of P20 to P34 per day will be given to workers in Bataan, Bulacan, Nueva Ecija, Pampanga, Tarlac, and Zambales while P10 will be given to workers in Aurora starting August 1, 2018. Another P10 will be given to workers in Aurora six months after the effectivity of the first tranche of increase.


Starting July 12, workers in Western Visayas will receive an P8.50 to P26.50 per day basic wage increase, bringing the highest minimum wage in the region to P365 for workers in the non-agriculture, industrial, and commercial establishments with more than 10 workers. Meanwhile, workers in the same sector employing 10 workers and below as well as workers in the agriculture sector (plantation and non-plantation) will receive a new minimum wage of P295 per day.


Minimum wage earners in Central Visayas will also receive basic wage increase in the amount of P15 to P20 per day for those in non-agriculture establishments employing 10 workers and below while P10 will be given to workers in non-agricultural establishments employing less than 10 workers. In the agriculture sector, workers will receive a P10 to P52 per day basic wage increase. These increases will take effect on August 3, 2018.


Meanwhile, workers in the Zamboanga Peninsula will receive P20 per day basic wage increase starting July 31, 2018.
