he Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Board-I (RTWPB-I) joined the Department of Labor and Employment Regional Office I (DOLE RO1) in conducting a High Impact High Visibility Inspection (HIHVI) at major bus terminals in San Fernando City, La Union last 31 March and 1 April 2026.
The inspection was conducted at the major Bus Transport Companies in San Fernando City, La Union, to ensure that both workers and passengers are protected, labor and transport regulations are effectively enforced, and safety standards are strictly observed.
RTWPB-I supported the inspection by reinforcing minimum wage compliance and productivity standards in the transport sector. The said joint activity was undertaken in collaboration with the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB), Land Transportation Office (LTO), Philippine National Police (PNP) and Philippine National Police-Highway Patrol Group (PNP-HPG).
The initiative aimed to enforce labor standards, ensure compliance with occupational safety and health (OSH) regulations, safeguard the welfare of workers and passengers, and strengthen public trust through visible and proactive government action. (Dino S. Dizon)
