The Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Board IV-A (RTWPB IV-A), in coordination with the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) – Cavite Provincial Office, successfully conducted its 1st Public Consultation on the Proposed Minimum Wage Adjustment for the Formal Sector and Domestic Workers in the region last 09 July 2026 in Bacoor City, Cavite.
More than 300 representatives from the labor, employers, domestic workers, and government sectors participated in the public consultation. During the proceedings, labor and domestic worker representatives expressed the need for a wage increase, citing the continuous rise in the cost of basic goods and services, as well as the wage gap between CALABARZON and neighboring cities in Metro Manila.
Meanwhile, employer representatives recognized the challenges faced by workers but also emphasized the need for government support, such as subsidies and assistance programs, to help businesses manage the impact of any wage adjustment without bearing the full financial burden.
Through meaningful dialogue and active participation, the consultation provided an avenue for all sectors to be heard, an essential part of the Board’s commitment to a fair, balanced, and evidence-based wage determination process. (Ma. Khelly Ann Victoriano)
