The Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Board-IX (RTWPB-IX), in partnership with the Employees’ Compensation Commission Regional Extension Unit IX (ECC REU-IX), conducted a training on effective employee onboarding in Zamboanga City on 21 September 2026.

A total of 67 attendees representing human resources practitioners, supervisors, managers, and employers of micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in the city participated in the activity.

The discussion tackled the concepts and benefits of onboarding new employees, the phases of onboarding, and the importance of performance measurement and evaluation.

Meanwhile, RTWPB-IX Secretary VI Joel M. Ijirani discussed the prevailing Wage Orders in Region IX and presented updates on the Board’s wage-setting function.

Ms. Danica Lacson, ECC REU-III Information Officer, presented the initiatives, programs, and services of the agency that may benefit the employees of MSMEs.

Hired and Inspired: Jumpstarting Productivity through Effective Onboarding of New Employees provides a clear and practical guide to effective employee onboarding, explains why it matters for productivity and retention, and details the design and implementation of a structured onboarding process.
