The Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Board IV-B (RTWPB-MIMAROPA), in collaboration with the DOLE MIMAROPA Regional Office through its Oriental Mindoro Provincial Office and the Oriental Mindoro Provincial Public Employment Service Office (PESO), conducted the productivity training titled “Work Ethics of a Productive Worker” for 90 youth beneficiaries of the JobStart Philippines Program (JSPP) on May 25, 2026, at the Bulwagang Panlalawigan, Capitol Complex, Camilmil, Calapan City, Oriental Mindoro.

The productivity training formed part of the JSPP’s 10-day Soft and Core Skills Training. JSSP is a youth employment initiative of the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) that equips young Filipinos with the skills, training, and work experience necessary to secure decent and sustainable employment.

The training aimed to prepare young jobseekers to meet the expectations of the modern workplace with confidence, professionalism, and good work values. Participants were guided in identifying the work values most sought after by employers and in understanding how these values contribute to both individual and organizational productivity.

Beyond raising awareness, the module encouraged the youth beneficiaries to reflect on how they can actively demonstrate positive work values in the workplace, including punctuality, accountability, initiative, and teamwork.

The productivity training also provided participants with practical guidance on adapting to and thriving within a company’s culture. Through the session, participants were equipped with the social and professional skills necessary to integrate effectively into various work environments.

Through initiatives such as this, RTWPB-MIMAROPA continues to strengthen workforce productivity and promote values-driven employment among young Filipino workers. (Renell G. Mayo)
