The Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Board–National Capital Region (RTWPB-NCR) oriented 58 participants from 36 micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in Quezon City on Wage Order No. NCR-27 and Business Continuity and Resiliency Planning (BCRP) on 13 August 2026.

The orientation was conducted as part of the training on Disaster Preparedness, Business Continuity, and Resiliency Planning organized by the Quezon City Small Business and Cooperative Development and Promotions Office (QC-SBCDPO).

Representing RTWPB-NCR were Senior Labor and Employment Officer Ms. Luchie Atienza and Information Technology Officer I Mr. Joel Leonard Santarina, supported by Ms. Maria Ruby Mortel.

Ms. Atienza discussed the Productivity Toolbox Module on Business Continuity and Resiliency Planning, which helps MMSEs develop and implement strategies to withstand disruptions and disasters, sustain operations, and support environmental sustainability.

“A business continuity plan isn’t just paperwork – it determines whether an enterprise reopens its doors after a disaster,” Ms. Atienza said.

During the workshop portion of the session, she guided participants in drafting working BCRPs tailored to their own enterprises.

The Business Continuity and Resiliency Planning training assists MSMEs in developing and implementing strategies that mitigate the impact of disruptions and disasters, ensure continuity and resilience, and contribute to environmental sustainability.

In line with Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Secretary Francis Tolentino’s directive to strengthen stakeholders’ understanding of the region’s new wage order, Mr. Santarina led an in-depth orientation on Wage Order No. NCR-27, covering the latest issuance’s salient features and the proper identification and correction of wage distortion.

Mr. Santarina also discussed Productivity-Based Incentive Schemes, a formal mechanism that allows enterprises to raise productivity while sharing the resulting gains with their workers. (Joel Leonard M. Santarina)
