NEWS AND ANNOUNCEMENTS
The Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Board–Negros Island Region (RTWPB-NIR) formally introduced its newly hired personnel during the National Wages and Productivity Commission’s (NWPC) flag-raising ceremony conducted via Zoom on 13 July 2026.
NWPC Executive Director Maria Criselda R. Sy administered the oath of office to Atty. Lee A. T. Verdoguillo, Attorney IV and Evita Mae V. Remoroza, Senior Labor and Employment Officer. Sofia F. Villaluz was sworn in as Administrative Assistant III while Danica Faith V. Meraviles and Ryan C. Romagos were sworn in as Administrative Assistants I.
The virtual ceremony was witnessed by NWPC and RTWPB officials and personnel across the country, who warmly welcomed the new employees.
Prior to their virtual oath-taking, the Department of Labor and Employment–Negros Island Region (DOLE-NIR) welcomed its new Regional Director, Atty. Randolf C. Pensoy, during a turnover ceremony held at the DOLE-NIR Regional Office, Ouano Complex, Government Center, Bajumpandan, Dumaguete City on 06 July 2026.
As Regional Director of DOLE-NIR, Atty. Pensoy also assumes the role of Chairperson of the RTWPB-NIR, where he will lead the Board in advancing policies and programs that promote fair wages, enhanced productivity, and meaningful social dialogue among government, labor, and management sectors in the region.
The ceremony marked the formal turnover of leadership from former DOLE-NIR Interim Regional Director Atty. Roy L. Buenafe to Atty. Pensoy.
Atty. Sixto T. Rodriguez, Jr., Regional Director of DOLE Regional Office VI, and Ponciano Ligutom, CESO III, former Regional Director of DOLE Regional Office VI, together with officials and personnel from the DOLE-NIR Regional Office and the Negros Oriental, Negros Occidental, and Siquijor Field Offices were also in attendance.
Members of the RTWPB-NIR Interim Officers namely Atty. Evita Mendoza-Balane, Board Secretary of RTWPB Regional Board VII; Atty. Jess Jumalon, Attorney IV of RTWPB Regional Board VII; and Misfah Lyn T. Dela Torre, Interim Human Resource Management Officer, RTWPB-VII officials as well as representatives from the Tripartite Industrial Peace Council (TIPC) and the PESO Managers’ Association–Negros Island Region also participated in the event. ###
