RTWPB-VII boosts enterprise resilience through Productivity and Service Quality Training for AMP beneficiaries
The Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Board–VII (RTWPB-VII) conducted a series of specialized productivity training sessions for beneficiaries of the DOLE Adjustment Measures Program or AMP on April 24, 2026, at the Tupad Center, DOLE VII in Cebu City.
Designed to complement the financial assistance provided under the AMP, the training activities focused on three productivity modules – Productivity 101, Service Quality, and the ISTIV Productivity Awareness Program. These modules aim to equip micro-enterprise beneficiaries with technical skills, practical tools, and the right mindset needed to thrive in a competitive market.
The DOLE-AMP offers funding to help MSMEs improve their workers’ skills and adapt to economic disruptions and emerging employment and business opportunities. By integrating productivity training, RTWPB-VII ensures that financial assistance is matched with operational expertise.
The Productivity 101 module presented by Sir Erly Javier, Senior Labor and Employment of RTWPB-VII, provided participants with a foundational understanding of “Smarter Work” over “Harder Work.” It includes topics such as waste elimination, identifying non-value-adding activities in business operations, resource optimization, strategies for MSMEs to maximize limited capital and manpower, and continuous improvement which encourage a culture of incremental growth to sustain business.
Meanwhile, Service Quality Training was delivered by Ms. Merry Ann Gonato and Atty. Jess Russell Jumalon, highlighting the Service Quality Plus framework. Participants learned how to map the customer journey to identify critical service touchpoints, standardize processes to ensure consistent quality, and build brand trust. The session also underscored the value of managing customer feedback effectively—transforming complaints into opportunities for service innovation—particularly significant in Central Visayas, a region largely driven by tourism and service‑oriented industries.
Capping the training was the ISTIV Program, which stands for Industrious, Systematic, Time‑conscious, Innovative, and Value for work. Tailored specifically for AMP beneficiaries, the program focused on values realignment, linking positive work ethics with enterprise productivity and success. This session aimed to build resilience by fostering a workforce capable of adapting to technological advancements and economic shifts that initially led to the need for AMP intervention. (Atty.
