The Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Board Region VIII (RTWPB VIII) presented and discussed the salient features of Wage Order No. RBVIII-25 during the Employers’ Forum for the Construction Industry held on March 23, 2026 in Tacloban City.
The forum was organized by the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Regional Office VIII as part of its preparations for the 2026 Nationwide Construction Job Fair. The activity gathered construction companies from across Eastern Visayas to engage with resource persons from various government agencies on labor standards compliance, workers’ welfare, and industry-related concerns.
RTWPB-VIII was represented by Atty. Marie Ronette B. Campo, who presented the salient features of Wage Order No. RBVIII-25. She explained its coverage, implementation mechanisms, and compliance requirements, and encouraged employers and construction companies to avail of technical assistance, particularly on the assessment and resolution of possible wage distortions arising from the wage adjustments.
During the morning session, Senior Labor and Employment Officer Imelda Codilan discussed key provisions on labor standards, inspection procedures, and compliance advisories. This was followed by Mr. James P. Po of the Social Security System (SSS), who provided an overview of employer registration, contribution requirements, and common violations encountered among construction firms.
The afternoon session featured discussions from partner agencies including the Occupational Safety and Health Center, the National Conciliation and Mediation Board, and the Employees’ Compensation Commission. These sessions focused on workplace safety and health, labor dispute prevention and resolution, and employees’ compensation benefits. (Atty. Marie Ronette Salve B. Campo)
