The Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Board Region-VIII (RTWPB-VIII) participated in the High Impact, High Visibility Inspection (HIHVI) in the transport sector conducted at Marasbaras Bus Terminal, Tacloban City on March 16, 2026.

The activity was spearheaded by the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) North Leyte Field Office pursuant to the directive of the Bureau of Working Conditions, in coordination with the Department of Transportation, Land Transportation Office, Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board, and DOLE-attached agencies including RTWPB-VIII, the National Conciliation and Mediation Board, Employees’ Compensation Commission, and the Occupational Safety and Health Center.

During the inspection, RTWPB-VIII joined DOLE labor inspectors in providing technical assistance to public utility bus operators, particularly on the adoption of a part-fixed, part performance-based compensation scheme.

RTWPB-VIII also distributed copies of Wage Order No. RBVIII-25 to the management of the private bus terminal and to various business establishments operating within the terminal. (Atty. Marie Ronette Salve B. Campo)
