RTWPB-XII equips DOLE-AMP beneficiaries, PO winners with effective onboarding strategies

June 25, 2026

The RTWPB-XII conducted a productivity training titled “Hired and Inspired: Jumpstarting Productivity through Effective Onboarding of New Employees” at the City of Koronadal on 22 June 2026

The activity aimed to help enterprises establish structured onboarding systems that enable new employees to transition smoothly into their roles, ultimately contributing to higher organizational productivity and long-term business sustainability.

Seventeen representatives, composed of beneficiaries of the Department of Labor and Employment-Adjustment Measures Program (DOLE-AMP) and winners and nominees of the Productivity Olympics, participated in the activity.

The training covered the fundamentals and benefits of employee onboarding, the development and implementation of onboarding processes, and the preparation of structured onboarding plans that organizations can readily adopt to effectively integrate new employees into their workforce.

Ms. Karen Mae Arellano, Administrative Assistant III, emphasized that onboarding is far more than an orientation program—it is the organization’s first opportunity to cultivate employee confidence and commitment.

“An employee’s first experience with an organization often shapes their motivation, engagement, and performance. A structured onboarding process helps new hires feel welcomed, informed, and prepared to contribute effectively from their very first day,” Ms. Arellano said.

Ms. Faye Kim T. Torres-Wee, Supervising Labor and Employment Officer, underscored the direct relationship between effective onboarding and organizational productivity.

“Organizations that invest in onboarding are investing in productivity. When employees clearly understand their roles, organizational values, and performance expectations early on, they adapt faster, commit more deeply, and perform more efficiently,” Ms. Torres-Wee said.

Ms. Angel Kris Alcantara, Administrative Assistant I, explained that by providing employees with the knowledge, resources, and support they need from the beginning of their employment, organizations can reduce adjustment periods, minimize turnover, strengthen workplace culture, and maximize employee potential.

“These outcomes contribute directly to enhanced operational efficiency and organizational competitiveness,” Ms. Alcantara said. (Randy Oliver Legada)
