RTWPB-XIII teams up with DOLE offices to address Energy Crisis

April 23, 2026

The Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Board-XIII (RTWPB-XIII), along with other members of the Regional Coordinating Committee, convened on 13 April 2026 to tackle ways to address the ongoing energy crisis.

Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Assistant Secretary Joel M. Gonzales, DOLE Caraga Regional Director Atty. Jason P. Balais, and various heads from DOLE field offices and attached agencies participated in the meeting.

RTWPB-XIII Board Secretary VI Earl D. dela Victoria presented the agency’s proactive energy-saving measures, which align with Executive Order No. 110 and Memorandum Circular No. 114, series of 2026. These initiatives include regulating room temperatures and implementing a strict policy against leaving computers idle.

BS dela Victoria also emphasized that these practices are designed to significantly reduce energy consumption while simultaneously ensuring the continued health and safety of all employees.

To further manage costs during the current economic crisis, BS dela Victoria said RTWPB-XIII plans to transition some of its productivity trainings to online platforms.

BS dela Victoria explained that while RTWPB-XIII remains dedicated to promoting productivity and incentive schemes for micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs), these online sessions will serve as a key cost-cutting tool. He assured the committee that despite the change in format, the quality of the training provided by the secretariat will not be compromised.

Assistant Secretary Gonzales, likewise, expressed his deep appreciation to the Regional Coordinating Committee for their consistent support of DOLE’s programs and the effective implementation of agency mandates. He also encouraged the members to continue providing vital assistance to MSMEs, which serve as the backbone of the regional economy.

The Regional Coordinating Committee, which consists of DOLE’s attached agencies, meets quarterly to discuss regional concerns and coordinate future accomplishments. (Atty. Lorainne D. Sacote)
